[02.02.13] TexJoy's Super FANtastic Bowl Contest - Share the Flavor and Win
Be a POSTer on facebook. Win a Poster from TexJoy.
Something new and spicy for celebrating the big national event of watching football, watching commercials and chowing down on delicious grub. Our TexJoy's Super FANtastic Bowl 2013 contest is a fun social scene thing for Sunday. It's simple - surely you are watching the game at home, at the bar, at the party or wherever and you're likely enjoying some awesome foods. If you're using TexJoy, we wanna see it! Simply share our post or post your own pictures of your TexJoy-accentuated foods to Facebook to SHARE the love of flavor. Get creative with it and post as often as you like during the pre-game, the game, halftime, and even post-game...all the way up until Midnight (central time). Then over the course of the next week or so our TexJoy crew will review the posts and vote on which ones we like the best. The winner will receive something very unique - a limited print of a vintage style TexJoy poster signed by Texas artist and unabashed TexJoy fan, Lance LaRue. This poster is perfect for any man cave or patio grill area where TexJoy supplies are nearby. Along with the poster, you'll get a free jar of the artist's personal favorite TexJoy spice - Cajun Seasoning. And on top of this, the winner will also receive a TexJoy family Chili Recipe signed by the TexJoy family, and who knows - maybe a couple of other surprises! See here for more detail.
[08.06.12] HUGE Display of Steak Seasonings and Spices in Houston
We are pleased to announce we now have a HUGE TexJoy Steak Seasoning display in a north Houston area Walmart Supercenter. Off I-45 near West Road. Our Seaport Coffee and TexJoy steak seasonings are in more Walmart stores across Texas and Louisiana than ever before, and this is our biggest display yet - even bigger than any of our Beaumont displays. Be sure to check it out if you are in the Houston area for our steak seasoning, Texas Steak Shake seasoning, barbecue rubs, and more.
[07.02.12] Our Friend at the LSBS State Championship BBQ Cook Off - Bandera, TX Recently our friend (and long-time fan and customer), Gordon Morriss, not only competed for the LSBS State Championship BBQ Cook off in Bandera, Texas...he found a place on the finalists' podium and has qualified for Nationals in Meridian, TX in the fall. We are proud to congratulate Gordon Morriss for placing 2nd in the Brisket category.
Morriss is generous & quick to say he cooks with TexJoy. He has used TexJoy Fajita Seasoning for years and has also used the signature TexJoy Steak Seasoning. He has qualified for the National Championship in Meridian for multiple years. And just how devoted of a fan is he? Well, we won't go into too much detail, but let's just say he could very well map out central Texas blindfolded and from memory! Like many of our customers west of Houston, Morriss relied on Academy Sports + Outdoor to carry his choice of TexJoy, but some Academy stores have recently stopped carrying (or replenishing) their TexJoy supply. So Morriss became "Magellan" and journeyed from retailer to retailer, logging many miles across Texas on his truck in pursuit of TexJoy. For that, we are thankful! Amazed and grateful. And it is our great pleasure to say that Morriss was awarded 2nd placefor his delicious, out of this world, bbq brisket.
We appreciate Gordon Morriss and customers like him who literally "go the extra mile" for great flavor. Congratulations Mr. Morriss!

[02.16.12] New TexJoy Coffee Café Blend Now In Market Basket Stores As
of today, our TexJoy Café Blend Coffees are being loaded off delivery
trucks and onto store shelves in Market Baskets of Texas and Louisiana.
Market Basket has long been an important, friendly and wonderful part of
TexJoy and Seaport products, especially when it comes to introducing
new items such as this new blend. TexJoy Coffee - 100% Arabica, custom
blended, roasted and packaged in Beaumont, Texas - is an homage to one
of our signature coffee blends of the early days of the company
Since 1921, the Texas Coffee Company is still a family-owned company and we pride ourselves on honoring our family members who started it all, who made today possible for us! This is certainly no exception. The TexJoy blend of the 1920s and '30s (and so on) was very popular, and if we had a nickel for every time we've been asked to bring it back since those formidable years , well...we could add "Savings and Loan" to our company name! Our crew has been kicking around the idea for years - decades even - and in recent years, we began to develop a carefully selected recipe that was worthy of our forefathers' great tastes. This coffee is a product of time honored tradition, family heritage, one hundred percent pure Arabica beans grown at ideal altitudes and expertly roasted to a precision that our daddies and granddaddies and great great granddaddies would be proud of...and, of course, simply great flavor. In just a couple short months, we are delighted to say that our TexJoy Coffee has grown from just a small run for sale online to store shelves in Jack's Pak-Its and now Market Basket Grocery stores in Texas and Louisiana.
So if you are in Port Arthur, Port Neches, Nederland, Bridge City, Port Acres, Orangefield, Orange, Winnie, Baytown, Kirbyville, Jasper, Newton, Woodville, Buna, Dayton, Liberty, Silsbee, Lumberton, Sour Lake, Groves (HOME of Market Baskets), Vidor, Deweyville, Mauriceville, Texas or Lake Charles, DeRidder, Cameron, Sulphur, Vinton, Iowa, Moss Bluff, DeQuincy, Jennings, Crowley, or other areas of Southwest Louisiana, or our very own Beaumont, Texas - there's a Market Basket near you with a bright yellow package of TexJoy Cafe Blend Coffee waiting for you!
[02.01.12] NEW HATS! We
were so excited about 2012, we flipped our lids. Figuratively and
literally. Our traditional jars of steak seasoning, cajun seasoning,
barbecue seasoning, nutmeg, parsley flakes, allspice, onion powder,
garlic powder and all of our fine seasonings and spices have a bright
new look now that we have updated our white lids to a glorious, sunny
It's the same great flavors you've cooked with, stirred in, rubbed on, marinated with, and shook on your dinners - just a new hat. We are starting to put these out in spice aisles this month. So look for a little brighter glow in between the shelves of sugar and racks of vegetable oil (or whatever else is by the spices!) and bask in the warming, shining splendor of Texjoy - now yellow from head to toe!
[12.20.11] 'Tis the Seasonings 'Tis

[10.12.11] Seaport Coffee in All Texas and Louisiana Wal-Mart Supercenters We are proud to announce that Seaport Coffee will be available in ALL
WalMart Supercenter stores across Texas and Louisiana. As of this
weekend, 10/15/11, our Seaport 'Founder's Choice' Mild Roast, Seaport
Dark Roast, Seaport DeCaf, and Seaport Between Roast Coffee will be on
the store shelves from El Paso, TX to Slidell, LA.
This is great news for the friends, family and fans of the Texas Coffee Company and our brands of TexJoy and Seaport. We are excited to have our 100% Pure Arabica Coffee available to more folks across both states in more locations than ever before. El Paso, Lubbock, Amarillo, Dallas, Fort Worth, Plano, and Tyler, Texas. Longview, San Angelo, Port Arthur, Beaumont, Houston, Dayton, Huntsville, Conroe and College Station, Texas. Katy, Houston, Baytown, Clear Lake, Sugar Land, Victoria, Galveston and Orange, Texas. Austin, San Antonio, San Marcos, Spring, Tomball, Kerrville, Round Rock, Georgetown and Abilene, Texas. McKinney, Denton, Odessa, Alpine, Harlingen, Corpus Christi, Uvalde, Lufkin, Midland, Waco and Fort Worth, Texas and all areas in between. And Lake Charles, Lafayette, New Orleans, Mandeville, Alexandria, Shreveport, Sulphur, DeRidder, New Iberia, Houma, Monroe, Ville Platte, and Opelousas, Louisiana and all bayous, swamps, metros and towns in between!
We love hearing from our fans and customers who tell us they love our varieties of coffees far and wide, but when we learn that their nearest retail store(s) does not carry the product or that it is not in stock, we share in their disappointment. This addition of Wal Mart Supercenter stores across Texas and Louisiana will make it so much more convenient for customers to get the taste of tradition and quality that we've continued to share for over 90 years.
Seaport and The Texas Coffee Co. hope to find our way into more stores and more states soon. So if you are not in Texas or Louisiana, please know that we are working hard to get into a grocery store or retail store near you. And remember, if you can't find it on the shelf, just ask your store manager for us by name.
Seaport is proud and excited at the opportunity to reach more people, more often and more easily at these fine stores. As always, all of our coffees and seasonings are available for purchase at SeaportCoffee.com and TexJoy.com. Seaport Coffee - family owned since 1921.
[08.03.11] Something New with Our Old Fashion Sausage Seasoning
The Texas Coffee Company, manufacturers of TexJoy seasonings, is pleased to announce the all new TexJoy Old Fashion Country Style Smoked Sausage, now available in Market Basket grocery stores in Texas.
The sausage links mark TexJoy’s first food product line outside of seasonings, spices and coffee (Seaport Coffee). It is a joint effort from TexJoy and Zummo Meat Co., makers of sausages, boudain, and other pork products. The two companies are still both family-owned in Beaumont for generations (Texas Coffee Co. since 1921; Zummo’s Meat Co. since 1908), and their products are sold throughout Southeast Texas and beyond.
Frank Zummo, Zummo Co. president, and Joseph Fertitta, Vice President of Texas Coffee Co., first discussed the idea to a small degree some months back, but Zummo had bigger plans for the venture. “We thought Zummo’s might use our Old Fashion Sausage Seasoning as part of a recipe for their sausage, but next thing you know we’re tasting samples of a whole new product with the TexJoy label,” says Fertitta. “That’s a testament to the Zummo Company’s foresight as well as their quality products and service.”
The TexJoy Old Fashion Country Style Smoked Sausage link is made with TexJoy’s Old Fashion Sausage Seasoning. The sausage can be fried, boiled, or baked, but the label makes a strong case for cooking on the grill. Market Basket grocery stores in Texas are the first to carry the product starting this month, and TexJoy and Zummo hope to expand into more stores and more locations outside of Southeast Texas in the near future. Zummo’s will be distributing the links in the stores, but they also make the links available by phone/mail order at 409-842-1810. Visit TexJoy.com for more on TexJoy seasonings and coffee. Visit Zummo.com for more on Zummo sausage links, party time links, boudain and the all new TexJoy Old Fashion Country Style Sausage. Call 409-842-1810 for mail order.
[06.09.11] Congrats to Fat Ash BBQ Team & the Big Win in Texas:
TexJoy congratulates the Houston area Bar-B-Q team of Fat Ash BBQ, named winners of the best Ribs at the Napa Auto Parts BBQ Cookoff. The win earns them a spot at the National Championship in Meridian, Texas later this year. We are proud to say that Fat Ash uses TexJoy seasonings on much of their mouth-watering, savory barbecue delicacies. Fat Ash BBQ has a history of success with chicken, ribs, and more and we are honored that our little yellow jars are in their trusty tool kit; most notably, our TexJoy Special BBQ Rub.
The 2nd Annual Napa Auto Parts Cookoff involves a wide array of cooking teams, grilling greats and smoker savants, and we are proud that our friends took home first prize for the ribs division. Fat Ash BBQ was named 4th Place Winner Overall and advance to Nationals next. Made up of family and friends, the team begins with the Garcia brothers whose shared love of grilling has grown from brothers simply having fun on the weekends to winning awards at cookoffs and winning the respect of grilling gurus across the great Lone Star State. EJ Garcia says that he discovered TexJoy Seasonings at a local BBQ hotspot during his college days at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX, and has been shaking it on his culinary concoctions ever since. The wild side of this is that they have only been officially a competing team since…this year! Already they have racked up several awards and they're hungry for more.
E.J. Garcia says that they have not tried all the many varieties of TexJoy seasonings just yet, but that they are working their way down the line and the TexJoy Mesquite Shake is up next. We think we speak for many folks when we say that we can't wait to taste what they come up with next. We look forward to the new and exciting things to come from Fat Ash BBQ team and we are proud to be associated with such an involved family of champion cookers. As they say, they like to compete, but they love to cook together and spend quality family time. We can't agree more. See their YouTube video(s), and visit them on Facebook for great interaction and recipes here
[03.07.11] Brand New Bag - Seaport's All New "Fresh Valve Pack"
Seaport Coffee, the family-owned coffee brand from the Texas Coffee Company, is pleased to announce a new package soon to hit store shelves across Southeast Texas, East Texas, the Greater Houston area, and Southwest Louisiana. The new coffee bag is Seaport's "Fresh Valve Pack," sealed with a small valve on the front of the package to eliminate excess air and to lock in freshness. This valve pack allows for a more modern, slimmer looking bag on the shelf, but more importantly it allows for Seaport's coffee to be fresh-roasted, ground and packed daily, ensuring an extra quality of freshness for every bag.
Joseph Fertitta, Vice President of the Texas Coffee Company, is proud of the new coffee package and is optimistic about the consumer response. "We [Seaport] have always taken great pride in providing the freshest coffee possible. We were the first company in America to do the vacuum-packed foil bags like we use currently, the coffee 'bricks' as we refer to them...and this is a way to roast it, grind it and pack it the same day - making it even fresher."
Carlo Busceme, Texas Coffee Co. President, says that the new valve pack makes for a new, exciting and more modern look than before, but assures that the coffee inside is not changing. "The 100% Arabica coffee is still the same. All of our Seaport roasts are the same, just the new packaging makes it that much fresher. The valve pack even gives you more of that aroma, right there at the store shelf."
The fresh valve packs will be out soon, starting in the Beaumont area stores and expanding outward. The roasts include the Founder's Choice mild roast, dark roast, medium roast and between roast, as well as decaffeinated.
| ABOUT SEAPORT: Family-owned since 1921, The Texas Coffee Company continues to manufacturer Seaport Coffee and TexJoy seasonings and spices from Beaumont, Texas.
